Wolverines continue to battle for top spot

The Wayway Wolverines experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows last week. The Wolverines moved into sole possession of first place last Tuesday with a 5-2 victory over the visiting Selkirk Steelers. Two nights later, the OCN Blizzard spoiled a Halloween night matchup in Wayway with an 8-2 drubbing over the hometown Wolverines.

Interestingly, it was the second straight week the Blizzard knocked off the top team in the MJHL (they accomplished the same feat against the Portage Terriers when they were in first).

“I think fans who were at the game were probably shocked at the score,” said Wayway head coach Taylor Harnett about the OCN game. “We did put 40 plus shots on net, and held them to half of that.
